PADI Rescue Diver Course
The PADI Rescue Diver course is one of the most rewarding and challenging scuba diving courses. It teaches you how to prevent and manage problems in the water and how to help others in case of an emergency. You’ll become a more confident and aware diver, with the skills to handle real-world rescue situations.
Course Overview:
- Duration: Typically 2 days
- Includes knowledge development, confined water practice, and open water rescue scenarios

- Emergency response and first aid in diving situations
- Rescuing tired or panicked divers

- Study rescue concepts through the PADI eLearning or classroom sessions
- Learn how to respond to various dive emergencies
- Confined Water Practice
- Practice rescue skills in a controlled environment (pool or shallow water)
- Simulate real-life rescue techniques
- Open Water Scenarios
- Apply your skills in realistic rescue scenarios in open water
- Work with your instructor to manage mock emergencies
Requirements:
- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (e.g., EFR – Emergency First Response) within the past 24 months
- Minimum age: 12 years old
After Certification:
You’ll be better prepared to help yourself and others in emergency situations. The Rescue Diver certification is also a step toward becoming a PADI Divemaster or professional-level diver.
